  • Defined and led a global business transformation within a Telecoms Group Operations function, involving major improvements of the Service Management capability, across 600 staff. Both external and internal stakeholders confirmed the steady rise in global service management performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Led a programme of cross-functional cost-saving projects across Europe, involving 25 project and technical managers, to improve the cost-effectiveness of combined Telecoms networks. Drove through annual cost savings in Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia worth over £10m in 6 months.

  • Defined, established and led a 41-project pan-European business turnaround programme for a FTSE Data Services Company, with benefits of £90m, reporting to the divisional MD. Prioritised work on 10 short-term profit improvement projects and delivered £30m of bottom-line benefits in 6 months.

  • Managed 90 staff within a major [£500m] national security systems programme, to implement radiation detectors at UK ports. Overcame significant initial senior stakeholder reluctance by the port operators and delivered the agreed solutions on time and budget.

  • Led the programme planning and management for the launch of a new collaborative Utilities venture, involving the transfer of c. 500 staff into a new operating company, reporting to the COO. The size of the capital programme involved was £1.5bn over 5 years. Launched the new delivery organisation on time and budget, and it is still operating successfully today.

  • Accelerated a business change programme within a Government Agency, and reviewed the organisation's project & programme management capability. Also reviewed their significant external consultancy spend. Saved £4m over 5 months.

  • Programme managed the establishment of an innovative Utilities Design Authority, achieving seamless knowledge transfer from external consultants to company IT and business staff on a £400m business-critical IT programme. This addressed a real operational risk for the cliend, before the IT consultants left.

  • Defined and managed a MOD business change programme of 20 operational improvement and efficiency projects and set up the PMO. Achieved major staff relocations from one site to another and saved £5m annually too.

  • Recovered and led a £10m business change programme, involving separating a mid-sized public sector organisation from its parent organisation, reporting to the CEO. Selected and implemented 3 new IT systems and delivered the independent organisation on time and budget.

  • Recovered and led a large national Facilities Management business transformation programme for a major commercial client; led a task force to improve the commercial position by £500k a year

  • Led a business change team of 25 programme managers, project managers and consultants, to implement a £50m portfolio of business-critical IT systems across a Finance Operations function, both on time and budget.

  • Developed and implemented the Portfolio Management business processes and tools for a large Government Department's central IT function, to help it better manage the very large IT project and programme investment and to transition to a World Class function.

  • Defined and led a £20m business change portfolio of 7 projects, within a £40m public sector healthcare BPO commercial implementation programme.
